Metuh Defies Doctor’s Advice, Appears In Court

Metuh, had on Tuesday, slumped while he was about taking his seat as he came into the National Working Committee meeting hall at the party secretariat to witness the inauguration of the caretaker committees of the party in Borno and Kebbi states.

After the swivel chair gave way, Metuh allegedly remained on the floor, writhing in pains, for close to three minutes. He was thereafter assisted out of the hall by two policemen.

Olisa Metuh was immediately moved to National Hospital where he was placed under observation.

However, he appeared in court today, explaining to journalists that his presence in court was against his doctor’s advice.

He further explained that he had to be present because he did not want his bail revoked.

He said, “I insisted on coming to court because I know that today is my court case.

“If I’m not here, my bail conditions might be revoked and I do not want it to be revoked but I have been here for three hours and we have not yet started. That is why my lawyers called for an adjournment.

“The doctor did not want to release me but I insisted. No matter the condition, I cannot wait to defend myself.”

Metuh is facing a seven-count charge of criminal breach of trust and money laundering to the tune of N400m brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
