Military To Close 7 Roads In Abuja Jan.15

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has announced plans to temporarily close some roads in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja for the 2019 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration (AFRDC).

In a statement on Wednesday by the Director of Defence Information (DDI), Brig-Gen. John Agim, as part of activities in celebration of this year’s AFRDC Parade for Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at the National Arcade Abuja by 9am, he asked residents and motorists to note the roads for closure.

According to Agim, the following routes will be blocked in the morning during the event:

•Court of Appeal junction

•Foreign Affairs junction

•Bayelsa House junction

•Benue House junction

•Phase 3 flyover

•Aso Drive by phase 3

•Mopol gate behind National Arcade

“All inconveniences are highly regretted. Join the Armed Forces in remembering the fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for peace and security of our dear nation,” he stated.

The AFRDC is held on January 15 of every year to honour the nation’s fallen heroes who paid the supreme price for peace and security in our beloved nation.
