Minister Dispels Alleged Killing Of Taxi Driver In Wuse Market

*Urges Abuja Residents To Go About Daily Activities

Mohammed Bello, the Federal Capital Territory Minister, has allayed the panic of Abuja residents over the unrest on Wednesday at the Wuse Berger axis.

A clash had ensued between taxi drivers and policemen in Abuja over the alleged killing of a cab driver by officials of the Task Force.

But speaking in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Cosmas Uzodinma, Bello denied any killing in the violence.

The minister equally urged Abuja residents to go about their daily life, saying normalcy had since been restored in the nation`s capital.

“As result, it was reported that some touts attacked the members of the task team and were arrested. The arrested vehicles and persons are with the police currently undergoing further investigations. Calm has returned to the Wuse Market after the minor incident.

“The FCT Administration thanks members of the public for their understanding and support in the efforts of the Administration to ensure sanity on our roads, check the use of illegal taxis, unauthorised parks and criminal activities especially in the ember months,” said the minister.
