Spanish Prime Minister, Mariano Rajoy, has appointed Minister of Sex, Edelmira Barreira, as part of efforts to reverse the country’s plummeting birth rate.

Spain, which has been hit with unprecedented fewer births than deaths in the past few years, is blaming sex famine in the country on long working hours and late nights of its citizens.

This condition is believed by the Spanish Government to have reduced sexual activities of its citizens.

The Minister of Sex is expected to play the role of encouraging Spaniards to have more sex so as to increase the country’s birth rate.

The Spanish Government has taken this measure to curb the steady decline of birth rate in the country.

Meanwhile Statistics had indicated that number of births recorded in the country had plunged by 18% since 2008.
