Money Laundering: Former NIMASA ED, Agaba Bags 7 Years Jail Term

Former Executive Director of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Captain Ezekiel Bala Agaba, has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment for laundering the sum of N1.5 billion.

Justice Ibrahim Buba, of the
Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, passed the judgment on Wednesday.

Channels Television reports that the judge handed down the sentence on Wednesday, after convicting the former NIMASA ED.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFFC, which prosecuted Agaba, had charged him and others with stealing and forgery while serving in the agency.
