Morocco Knocked Out Of 2018 World Cup
Morroco have been eliminated from the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
The North Africans were beaten 1-0 by Portugal on Wednesday, becoming the first side to be eliminated from the tournament.
They lost their first group game against Iran last week.
Cristiano Ronaldo drilled in a fourth minute header to give Portugal the lead, taking his goal tally at the tournament to four.
The Real Madrid man becomes Europe’s all-time leading international scorer with 85 goals.
Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in Portugal’s dramatic 3-3 draw against Spain on Friday to match Hungarian great Ferenc Puskas as Europe’s record top scorer with 84 goals.
Five goals has been enough to win the golden boot in recent years, so a further goal or two for Ronaldo would set him well on the way.
The Portuguese is now only behind Ali Daei of Iran, on 109 goals, in the global all-time scoring charts.
Morocco, which still have a game left at the tournament, are playing at the World Cup for the first time in 20 years.
