Motorcyclist Killed As Trucks Collide In Anambra Road Accident

A commercial motorcyclist was Wednesday evening killed when his motorcycle collided with a Toyota Hilux pick-up without registration number at Uli, opposite Starch Mills, Ihiala, in Anambra State.

Our correspondent gathered that the driver of the Hilux lost control due to over-speeding, and hit the motorcycle rider. The rider was rushed to Ark Angel Hospital where he was confirmed dead.

In another development, a Mark trailer with registration number YG 555 ENU, loaded with drinks, and an unidentified Mercedes Benz 911, with registration number ENU 826 ZZ, Wednesday evening, had a head-on collision at Ihiala, opposite Ken Maduakor Drinks. It was gathered that the trailer lost control due to over-speeding, and rammed into the one carrying drinks. The two drivers sustained minor injuries, but the entire loaded drinks were destroyed.

A rescue team of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Ihiala Command in Anambra State, was seen towing the trucks out of the road to allow free flow of traffic.

Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State, Andrew A Kumapayi, has warned motorists to avoid over-speeding and obey every traffic regulation to avoid road mishaps.
