Mourinho Replaces Pochettino As Tottenham Boss

Ex Chelsea and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has replaced Tottenham coach, Mauricio Pochetino, in a three-year contract which will last till the end of 2022-2023 season.

Totenham chairman Daniel Levy who announced Mourinho’s arrival on Wednesday praised the new manager as one of the most successful managers in football.

He further attributed the club’s choice to the wealth of experience of the Portuguese.

He added that Mourinho was a genius tactician and has won trophy hours anywhere he headed.

 “In Jose we have one of the most successful managers in football.

“He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honours at every club he has coached.

“We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.” Levy said

Morinho, reacting to his appointment, expressed excitement to have joined the Spurs.

According to Morinho, “I am excited to be joining a club with such a great heritage and such passionate supporters.

The quality in both the squad and the academy excites me. Working with these players is what has attracted me.”

The appointment is following the sack of manager Mauricio Pochettino due to an unfortunate start to the campaign that has seen last season’s Champions League finalists slide down 14 places in the Premier League table.

Spurs have just three wins from their opening 12 games and were eliminated from the League Cup in September by fourth-tier Colchester United.
