It would be recalled that the NEC had placed the former Acting Chairman, Akanni Olayinka, on indefinite suspension on January 1, 2017, siting “gross misconduct, financial malpractices and misappropriation and refusal to attend to an invitation to give details of his stewardship to the party.”

The party in a communiqué issued at the end of its emergency NEC meeting recently in Abuja, unanimously supported the replacement of the former acting chairman with Hon Santuraki, also in acting capacity, pending the convention of the party.

The communiqué said the meeting presided over by National Vice Chairman, North-west, Alhaji Lawal Ibrahim Mani, passed a vote of confidence on the other executive of the party.
