Musa, Enyeama, Make 37 Man List for CAF Player of The Year Award

New Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa, his predecessor, Vincent Enyeama, current African Footballer of the year, Yaya Toure were among the names shortlisted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for next year’s Glo-CAF award, where the best player in the continent would be crowned.

The Africa football governing body, on Sunday, released the list of the 37 exceptional players in Africa, to battle the four time African Footballer of the year, Yaya Toure for the award.

Some others on the list are, Leicester City of England striker, Riyad Mahrez, from Algeria, Yannick Bolasie of DR Congo, Ghana’s Andre Ayew, Mame Diouf from Senegal, Kenya’s Victor Wanyama, Gabon skipper Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Mali’s Seydou Keita.

Lille of France goalkeeper Enyeama, who has been on superb form for both club and country, came so close to winning the last edition of the pretigious award but lost narrowly to defending champion, Yaya Toure.

Super Eagles skipper, Ahmed Musa, who has made the 10-man shortlist for the past three years, has also been on superb form for his club, CSKA Moscow of Russia, where he has already scored nine goals in all competitions this season.

Ivory Coast midfielder, Yaya Toure, who is the current African Player of The Year, has won the award four times in a row beating Cameroon’s Samuel Eto’o who held the previous record of four titles.

The winner of the award will be decided by votes from the coaches or technical directors of the continent’s national teams.
