Music Stars Phyno, Zoro, Okoli Lead EndSARs Fix S/East Protest To Enugu Govt House

Famous Nigerian musician Chibuzor Azubuike, popularly known as Phyno; highlife crooner Chinedu Okoli, known as Flavour, and rapper Owoh China Zoro leading EndSARs protests currently ongoing in Enugu.

Phyno had tweeted after the Ebonyi protest that they were coming to Enugu to obtain some answers.

According to him, “Enugu!!! See u at Okpara Square.I have a lot of questions to ask, and we must get answers before we leave.. we need answers.. we come in peace!!! END SARS AND FIX EAST. #endsars #fixeast. I will be marching with my people in Enugu for a peaceful protest!!!”

The protest began Tuesday morning from Ọkpara Square to some streets in the state capital.

However, the protesters, at the Enugu Government House, insisted on being addressed by Gov Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi instead of his deputy, Mrs Cecilia Ezeilo, who represented him.

THE WHISTLER reports that police personnel were seen protecting the protesters and also ensuring that laws were not violated.

Meanwhile, the commissioner of police, Enugu State, CP Ahmad AbdurRahman, has warned residents of the state not to cause havocs in the name of protest against the disbanded SARS operatives.

A statement by the state command’s police public relations officer, ASP Daniel Ndukwe, stated that the commissioner’s warning was sequel to credible information that ‘miscreants were perfecting plans to hijack the proposed ‘End SARS’ protest and wreck havocs in the state’.

Commissioner AbdurRahman, in the release, entreated the general public, especially residents of the state, to remain supportive and patient with the police while warning any person or group of persons perfecting plans to cause breach of the peace under whatsoever guise to desist forthwith.

He warned that, “Such acts aimed at scuttling the hitherto peace and tranquility enjoyed in the state will be vehemently resisted; and anyone found wanting will be made to face the full weight of the law.
