Naira Marley Asks Fans To Support Government After His Charges Were Withdrawn

Nigerian singer Azeez Fashola, known as Naira Marley, has asked his fans to support the government.

This is seen as an attempt to redeem the pledged he made to the Lagos State government that he would comply with the directives of the federal and state governments and would advise his fans to do the same.

Charges against him were on Wednesday withdrawn by the Lagos State government subject to some conditions which include giving an undertaking in writing that he would continue to comply with “the directives of Mr President and Mr Governor.”

Naira Marley tweeted on Wednesday, asking his fans to support and comply with government directives .

He wrote: “Snitches on twitter will get you arrested and still want you to fight the government for them, from now on it’s just Marlians Only.

“Let’s all listen to the government and give them our full support.”

Naira Marley was on Monday detained for violating the social distancing and lockdown directives declared in the state by attending a birthday party organised by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, for her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello.
