NAPTIP Declares Speed Darlington Wanted Over Alleged Rape, Cyberbullying

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) has declared popular Nigerian entertainer, Darlington Okoye, also known as Speed Darlington, wanted over alleged offences of rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

In a Facebook post, NAPTIP released a wanted poster with Speed Darlington’s picture and several aliases, including “Akpi,” “Irregular Speedometer,” “Scorpion King,” and “Speedy.”

The agency stated that the public is hereby notified that Speed Darlington is wanted in connection with the alleged offences.

“The Public is hereby notified that the individual whose photograph appears is wanted by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons(NAPTIP) in connection with alleged offences of rape , cyberbullying and cyberstalking,” the agency posted.

This development follows Speed Darlington’s claim of having intimacy with a 15-year-old girl during a live Instagram video, which triggered outrage and accusations of confessing to statutory rape.

NAPTIP had summoned him for questioning, but he failed to appear on the scheduled dates and instead proposed June 26 as an alternative date, which the agency rejected.

NAPTIP said it is working with sister agencies, including the Nigerian Immigration Service, to ensure Speed Darlington’s appearance to answer to the allegations.
