NBA President Reacts To ‘Gruesome’ Killing Of Owerri Ex- Chairman

President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Olumide Akpata, took to Twitter on Sunday to describe the killing of the past Chairman of NBA Owerri, N. H. Nwankwo Esq, as “gruesome.”

News had filtered that Nwankwo, who left his residence on Saturday, was later found dead at his office with matchete cuts over his body.

His assassination is being probed by the Nigeria Police Force.

Reacting further to the development, Akpata urged the police to fish out the “perpetrators” immediately.

He also condoled with Nwankwo’s family and the association for the irreparable loss of a colleague.

“I am devastated to hear of the gruesome killing of a past Chairman of the Owerri Branch of the @NigBarAssoc N. H. Nwankwo Esq which said event took place at his office at 43 School Road Owerri, Imo State where he had gone to work on Saturday 6 February 2021.

“I have called the Branch Chairman, Mr J. I. Ogamba and past Chair, Mr Damian Nwanosike to express my condolences. I pray that God grants his family the fortitude to bear this loss while I call on @PoliceNG to ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are brought to book,” he tweeted.
