NCAA Is Investigating Impounded British Aircraft–Aviation Minister

The federal government on Monday, said it has began investigation into why a British aircraft was operating commercial flights at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos in violation of federal government directive.

Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, who disclosed this during the presidential taskforce briefing on COVID-19, said the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has stated the investigation.

Recall that the aircraft, which is a legacy 600 with registration G-PRFX, was impounded by the federal government for flouting the President Muhammadu Buhari’s ban on flight operations in and out of the country’s airspace as a result of COVID-19 pandemic.

According to Sirika, the pilot of the aircraft will be subjected to 14 days of quarantine.
