NCDC Boss Quarantined After Return From China

The Director-General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Chikwe Ihekweazu on arrival in Nigeria was quarantined and would spend 14 days in isolation.

This was disclosed by the Minister of Health, Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire on Tuesday while giving updates on measures taken to curtail the spread of Coronavirus.

While briefing the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, Ehanire said the NCDC boss had just returned from China on an official visit.

According to him, Ihekweazu would remain in isolation in compliance with government regulations on safety procedure for all persons returning to the country from burdened countries.

Meanwhile, the Lagos State Government also quarantined a Chinese citizen who arrived in Nigeria on Tuesday to test him for Coronavirus (COVID-19).
