President of Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, has assured soccer loving Nigerians that the new coach of Super Eagles will be announced in 10 days.

Speaking in an interview with Complete Sports on Tuesday, the NFF boss said talks have been held with the said coach and the deal is in its closing stages.

He however refused to reveal the identity of the coach until all documentations are completed and done.

“We have identified and held talks with the coach who will guide the Super Eagles through the World Cup qualifiers and the World Cup proper in Russia. The only reason we are holding back the announcement is just to ensure that everything is in place before we unveil him to Nigerians,” Pinnick said.

“Money to pay the new coach was a problem but that has been solved because we now have a sponsor who will pick the bills of the coach. We are ready to go and within the next 10 days, we shall tell you all who is our next coach.”

Pinnick was optimistic the Super Eagles will make it to the 2018 World Cup in Russia, as according to him the other teams drawn alongside Nigeria in the so-called group of death are scared of the Eagles.

“We respect all the teams in our group but we are not afraid of them. They should be afraid of us because we are also a force to reckon with on the continent. At the draw in Cairo, the other teams’ representative were jittery and fear was written over them,” the NFF boss added.

Nigeria’s senior football national team have been without a permanent coach since Sunday Oliseh resigned in February, 2016.

According to reports, former Olympic Lyonnaie manager, Paul Le Guen is expected to be named coach of the Super Eagles.
