News Of Katsina Schooboys’ Release Not True – Gov’t House Source

The reported release of over 300 students abducted from the Government Science Secondary School, Kankara, Katsina State, has been debunked by an official in the Katsina Government House.

Arise Television had reported the news on Thursday afternoon, quoting government sources.

But speaking to THE WHISTLER in a phone interview on Thursday, the government official who pleaded anonymity, refuted the news, saying “there is nothing like that…i’m inside the government house right now and there is no inoformation about the boys.”

News of the release came shortly after some online news media published a video allegedly sent by Boko Haram showing children said to be the abducted school children.

Voices in the video pleaded with Governor Aminu Masari to plead with the Nigerian Armed Forces to recall its fighter planes and troops sent to go after the terrorists.

Boko Haram insurgents had earlier claimed responsibility for the kidnap of the students.
