Niger State Launches School On Radio For Students On Lockdown

The Niger State Ministry of Education, on Thursday announced it had reached an agreement with five radio stations to commence teaching and learning, following the nationwide disruption of education as a result of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic lockdown.

A post on the Facebook of the state governor, Sani Bello, said the move would significantly help children continue their learning while keeping schools safe.

According to the post, the programme was scheduled to start today, April 16, 2020, and would broadcast across five radio stations with online support.

“Students are encouraged to check their local listings for the exact slots for radio,” the post read.
