Niger State Professor Dies From Coronavirus

Professor of Veterinary Medicine at the Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Bello Agaie has died from the Coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.

Niger State Governor, Sani Bello, disclosed this on Friday in Minna, the state capital.

A statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mary Noel-Berje, said Bello sympathized with the family of the deceased, Usmanu Danfodiyo University and his friends.

The statement said “Agaie died as a result of contracting COVID-19 in Sokoto.”

“He prayed that Almighty Allah forgive  his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatu Firdausi,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Bello, the statement continued, has disclosed that so far ten (10) persons have been confirmed positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19) out of 202 samples collected and tested.

“The governor stated this at a briefing with newsmen after a meeting with the committee of the COVID-19 Task Force in the State at the Government House, Minna,” the statement concluded.
