Niger State To Contractors: Complete Projects Or Face Prosecution

The Niger State government has expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of some ongoing projects in the state. 

Chief of Staff to Governor Sani Bello, and leader of the state Infrastructure Committee, Ibrahim Balarabe, who stated this after touring some of the projects in the  Suleja Local Government Area on Saturday, directed the contractors to complete the work or face prosecution.

A statement issued on the facebook page of the governor on Sunday, said the tour was in line with Governor Bello Administration’s directive to complete all the ongoing projects in timely and in highest possible standard, and initiate new ones for the good of all Nigerlites.

The statement also noted that Balarabe told the contractors that lagging in their contractual agreement and in executing projects would no longer be tolerated. 

The statement added that the committee had invited the contractors of Zariyawa and Jubilee roads to a meeting in the Government House on Tuesday, May 12th, 2020.

Balarabe, however, reiterated  the state government’s commitment to completing every ongoing project.

In the entourage were commissioners for Justice, Local Govt and Chieftaincy Affairs, Budget and Planning, Lands, and Housing. Others were  PermSec Finance, Perm Sec Procurement, Director of Civil, Ministry of Works, Senior Political Aide, Office of the COS, and Coordinator Legacy Projects.
