Nigeria At 60: Air Force Conducts Aerial Display To Celebrate Independence

The Nigerian Air Force on Friday said, as part of activities to mark the country’s 60th Independence Anniversary celebration, it would be conducting an aerial display at the Eagle Square in Abuja on Thursday, 1 October 2020.

A statement issued by Director of Public Relations and Information, Nigerian Air Force, Ibikunle Daramola, said rehearsals for the event had commenced on Thursday.

Daramola disclosed that the rehearsals involved military aircrafts flying at low level.

He called on members of the public not to panic but go about their normal activities.

Nigeria got her independence from Britian on October 1st 1960. She became a republic in 1963.

Celebration of independence in the country had always been characterised by fanfare.
