Nigerians Accuse Buhari, Sanwo-Olu Of ‘Genocide’ As Soldiers Gun Down #EndSARS Protesters At Lekki

Nigerians have taken to social media to accuse President Muhammadu Buhari and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, of sponsoring genocide against #EndSARS protesters.

This came after soldiers stormed the Lekki toll gate and allegedly killed several protesters who gathered at the location on Tuesday.

The protesters had defied the 24-hour curfew earlier imposed in the state by Governor Sanwo-Olu.

There were earlier reports that officials of the Lagos State Government had removed CCTV cameras and turned off street lights at the scene before the invasion of the soldiers.

Live and recorded videos posted on social media by the protesters showed that the usually lit Lekki toll gate was in darkness as of when the soldiers were shooting sporadically.

As of the time of filing this report, “#Genocide” was trending at number two on Twitter with over 102,000 tweets as Nigerians condemned President Buhari and Governor Sanwo-Olu for allegedly unleashing soldiers on the protesters. Below are some of the reactions:
