Nigerians Question WSJ Report On Secret Burial Of 1000 Soldiers

Reactions have trailed a report published by the Wall Street Journal, alleging that over a thousand Nigerian soldiers have been secretly buried at night by the President Muhammadu Buhari led administration.

The report claimed the army concealed “toll in unmarked graves” while claiming that the war against Islamist insurgency is won.

“The bodies are laid by flashlight into trenches dug by infantrymen or local villagers paid a few dollars per shift,” the report had claimed.

The report which was published today, had sparked diverse reaction on the social media.

One of the first to react to the report was the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku, who took to twitter to voice his concern over the report, requested that a Judicial Commission of Inquiry headed by a non-partisan and reputable jurist, be inaugurated to investigate the findings of the Wall Street Journal.
