Nigerians React As Moghalu Claims It’s ‘Criminal’ To Hoard Covid-19 Palliatives In Warehouses

Former presidential aspirant, Kingsley Moghalu, on Saturday, said that the reported discoveries of huge Covid-19 palliatives in government warehouses in some states falls short of good governance.

He said food items ought to have been disbursed to the vulnerable population who were grievously impacted by the covid-19 lockdown.

He wrote on Twitter : “Reports of the discovery in Nigeria of ‘Covid warehouses’ with palliatives on which billions of naira were budgeted and spent, hoarded and undisbursed to citizens, tells us that much about ‘governance’ in our country is simply a glorified criminal enterprise.”

THE WHISTLER earlier reported that youths in Ede town, Osun State, Lagos and Kwara States had broken into the COVID-19 palliatives warehouse to cart away food items.

But people who reacted to his tweet had divergent views on the matter.

Some claimed that he shouldn’t have jumped to conclusion as respective governments were not done distributing the palliatives.

Others held the view that he should have been silent on the matter.

However, others backed Moghalu’s claim on the insensitivity of government.
