The victory has reinforced Nigeria’s leadership in the race for World Cup tickets in Group C.

After the last match in Lagos, Coach Gernot Rohr was highly criticised with some Nigerians calling for his resignation or sack.

Leon Balogun and Victor Osimhen were phenomenal in the victory after the duo found the back of the net.

Balogun’s opener was his first international goal for Nigeria in his 41 appearances.

Osimhen now has 8 goals in 16 appearances for Nigeria.

The victory has led to positive comments as against the backlash the National Team received after the 1:0 loss in Lagos.

@cloudninesports said, “The Super Eagles bounce back to victory, Eagle.”

@OgaDelima said, “SuperEagles have revenge by winning #CARNGA 2-0.”

@ADEBOWALE said, “After Salah, Osimhen is the most consistent African player this year. The Nigerian International has done enough to be top 2 in the CAF awards.”

@ChidubemNJ noted, “While watching #CARNGA, I could hear instructions from the coaches (most audibly, Yobo) as the stadium was almost empty and I was quite amazed at the things I heard.”
