The show, which made its debut on Sunday April 10, was hosted by Nigerian radio and television on air personality, Ik Osakioduwa and MTV Base Africa’s Stephanie Coker.
The premiere, which kicked off with a joint performance by the coaches – 2Baba Idibia, Waje, Patoranking and Timi Dakolo – earned accolades from Nigerians at home and abroad.
Although some Nigerians were quick to find faults in the show, others said that despite the hard circumstances facing the country, it was relieving to have The Voice launched in Nigeria.

Yet to see the rationale behind Pato Ranking being a judge/coach on The Voice Nigeria. Don’t get me wrong. I’m a big fan but a voice coach?

2. The judges on The Voice Nigeria have to be PRODUCED and groomed not to demystify their reverence. Their excitement left much for desire

3.Will be following and watching as much as possible future episodes of TVN though. There should be room for improvement in areas mentioned
