Air passengers will spend more time at the airports when flights finally resumes in the country, National Coordinator of the Presidential Taskforce on COVID-19, Sani Aliyu has disclosed.
He added that a date for the resumption of flights would be announced soon once it becomes “practicable” to do so.
Sani stated this on Monday at the taskforce briefing in Abuja while giving guidelines on the next phase of the eased lockdown.
The federal government had shut down airports in the country in a measure to contain the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The national coordinator said safety measures to be put in place at airports would require passengers spending more time at airports.
Such measures would include use of facemasks, hand sanitizers, social distancing, among others.
Aliyu said air travelers would have to arrive earlier at airports in order to be allowed to board.
