Nigeria’s Industrial Court To Go On 22- Day Vacation

The National Industrial Court of Nigeria has announced that it will embark on Christmas/New Year vacation for 22 days, effective from December 18 to January 8, 2021.

The Court gave the notice in an advertorial on its Twitter handle on Saturday.

It added that Court sitting would resume on January 11.

“In exercise of the powers comferred on me under order 58 Rule 4 (1) (c) of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria (Civil Procedure) Rules, 2017, and all other powers enabling me in that respect, I, Hon. Justice B. B. Kanyip, Ph.D, FNIALS, President of the National Industrial Court of Nigeria, hereby declare that the Court shall proceed on end of the year and new year vacation from Friday 18th of December 2020 to Friday 8th of January 2021.

“FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that there will be no Court sitting during the period of the Vacation. Normal Court sitting shall resume on Monday 11th of January 2021,” it tweeted.

The court adjudicates on labour, employment, trade unions and industrial relations matters.

As published on its official website, it also presides over “matters arising from workplace, the conditions of service, including health, safety, welfare of labour, employee, worker and matter incidental thereto or connected therewith.”
