Nigerian born New Zealand Mixed Martial Art (MMA) fighter and current UFC Middleweight champion, Israel Adesanya, has been named the fighter of the year for 2020 at the World MMA awards.

This is the second time he has notched the Charles ‘Mask’ Lewis Fighter of the year award in a row, having won it in 2019.

Adesanya had shown dominant fighting prowess in the UFC as he has had a 20-0 zero career fights.

His record remained untainted as his two fights between Yoel Romero and Paulo Costa in 2020 ended in flawless victories for him.

The 31-year-old is the former Glory middleweight contender winner and King in the Ring two-time cruiserweight and heavyweight champion.

Adesanya currently ranks number 3 in the UFC men’s pound-for-pound rankings and is widely regarded as one of the best strikers in the world of mixed martial arts.
