Nnamdi Kanu Speaks From Israel, Says ‘No Going Back On Referendum’

Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has said there was no going back on the call for a referendum for an independent homeland for the mainly Igbo speaking people of the South East of Nigeria.

He also vowed that the proscribed secessionist group will resist the conduct of any election in the South East until their demands were met.

Kanu, who spoke from Tel Aviv, Israel, said; “IPOB will liberate Biafra and we will not take part in any election until we get a referendum and this is not negotiable, we will achieve this by every necessary means, we thank Israel for all the contributions they made to IPOB”

Kanu and his parents went missing sometime in September, 2017 when forces of the Nigerian military attacked their family compound.

According to him, 28 people were killed including the family dog, Jack.

“They killed our dog, Jack, my cousin Adaku and 28 others.”
