NNPC: MITEI Boss Lauds Kyari For ‘Walking The Talk’

The National Coordinator of the Media Initiative for Transparency in Extractive Industries (MITEI), Bassey Udo, has commended the Transparency, Accountability and Performance Excellence (TAPE) initiative of the Mele Kyari-led Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).

Udo, while on a courtesy visit to the NNPC boss at the NNPC Towers in Abuja on Tuesday, expressed delight that within a short period of Kyari’s appointment as GMD, he had started walking the talk by taking bold decisions towards realizing his promises to the nation and citizens.

The MIETI coordinator further described the TAPE initiative as a visionary move by Kyari to reposition the oil and gas sector, noting that the GMD had maintained a remarkable track record since his days as the Group General Manager of the Crude Oil Marketing Division (COMD).

Speaking further, Udo said the move by the corporation to publish the DSDP contract winners, ongoing efforts to rehabilitate the country’, and the signing of Key Performance Indicators by top management and the TAPE initiative had endeared the corporation to the group.
