The Chief Operating Officer Downstream Adeyemi Adetunji who made the assertion at the conference with the theme “Growth, Innovation and Technology” said there was a need for focus shift in the downstream sector as new market trends towards a digitized and automated world had come into sight.

Represented by the Managing Director Petroleum Products Marketing Company (PPMC), Bala Wunti, the COO further stated that all hands must be put on deck to fully digitalise the sector, noting that the new trends revolved around the convergence of a hydrocarbon economy and  a data economy.

“Old approaches of driving Cost efficiency and Safety are pretty much exhausted, hence in line with the Corporation’s Transparency, Accountability and Performance Excellence Agenda(TAPE), NNPC is aggressively working on digitizing its downstream operations.”
