NNPC Will Leverage Technology To Build Energy Company Of Global Excellence – Kyari
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) plans to leverage technology and innovation to achieve the goal of building Energy Company of Global Excellence.
The corporation’s Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari, stated this while delivering his address at the society of petroleum engineers (SPE) Nigeria Annual International Conference & Exhibition (NAICE 2019), in Lagos, tagged “Artificial Intelligence, Big Data and Mobile Technology: Changing the Future of the Energy Industry”.

According to Mele, the emergence of Artificial Intelligence has altered the dynamics of the corporations operations as the NNPC now have quicker processes & interventions in the conduct of petroleum operations.
“Technology and innovation will therefore continue to shape the way we do our businesses, especially in the deep offshore and other hard-to-operate environments.”
“Tech’ll permit us to test new ways of achieving better results, but the validity of such endeavour will depend on the availability of quality data which’ll ultimately support the deployment of AI with the overall effect of delivering more efficient/cheaper solutions. Kyari explained.
The GMD assured that the NNPC remains determined to improve its transparency, accountability and overall Performance businesses to deliver maximum value to 180m Nigerians.
