No Going Back On Auctioning Of Lockdown Violators’ Properties – Wike

Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has said the state will not reverse its decision to auction assets belonging to violators of the lockdown regulation to contain the spread of COVID-19.

Wike had said on Thursday that  the vehicles impounded for violating the COVID-19 lockdown regulations would be auctioned.

He said that Rivers’ wellbeing comes first.

iIn a separate statement on Friday, the governor reiterated the state’s commitment to auctioning the impounded properties despite criticisms.

He added that details of the auction would be published in national dailies.

“As earlier stated, we stand on our ground, All properties of violators seized will be auctioned at very very affordable prices, more details will be shared in  national dailies,” he added.
