Rangers defeated already relegated Ikorodu United 2-1 at the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta, on Sunday evening, with second placed Rivers United drawing 0-0 at home by Abia Warriors.
Obinna Nwobodo put the Rangers ahead in the 25th minute to score his seventh goal of the season for the Flying Antelopes.

The former Flying Eagles midfielder turned provider later as his inch perfect cross was diverted into the net by Chisom Egbuchulam in the 38th minute.
Paul Duke pulled a goal back for Ikorodu United in added time but it was not enough to deny the visitors all three points.
Rivers are on 57 points and will need to win their last fixture away to Akwa United and Rangers losing theirs to win the title.
A draw for Rangers in their last home game against El-Kanemi Warriors will see them crowned champions, with coach Imama Amakapabo insisting he will only celebrate after securing the title next Sunday against El Kanemi.
“We got the desired victory, we have 90 minutes to play for the trophy, the championship is in sight. We just have to keep our heads on our shoulders,” said Imama.
“Rangers still have one game to play this season.
“We must keep focus, but it is not yet over.”
