Justice Taiwo Taiwo had on July 5 given an interim forfeiture order, asking the lawmaker or anyone who might have owned the seized assets 30 days to convince the court why they should not be permanently forfeited to the Nigerian government.

According to Nwaoboshi’s counsel, Robert Clarke, SAN in a motion on notice, the legislator urged the court to set aside the ruling.

While adjourning the matter to August 19, 2019, Justice Taiwo said the decision was to give all the parties the room to file all the necessary processes in the interest of justice.
