NYSC DG Reveals What May Happen To Corp Members Attending Night Parties

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim, on Sunday, warned the 2020 Batch ‘B’ Stream IB Prospective Corps Members, against risking their lives by attending night parties and engaging in night travels, among others.

While charging the members at the Lagos and Ogun State Orientation Camps to be security conscious, he emphasized that such outings could endanger their lives.

“Corps Members have been advised to always be security conscious throughout the service year.

“The Director-General, who cautioned them against attendance of night parties, lone movements and night travels, also said they should avoid boarding vehicles by the roadside and instead patronise designated motorparks.

“He added that approval must be obtained from relevant authorities in the NYSC before travelling, warning that any Corps Member that embarked on unauthorised journey would be sanctioned,” NYSC stated in a post on its Facebook page.

The DG further stressed that the members should take advantage of their service year to promote national unity as well as develop entrepreneurial skills that would give them an edge in their future endeavors.

“Don’t violate NYSC Bye-Laws. l urge you to take your security very serious. Shun cultism, cybercrime, drug addiction and ethnic bigotry.

“As Corps Members you are to promote the unity, integration and peaceful co-existence of the country”, he added.
