OAU Master’s Student Corpse Exhumed In Presence Of Family Members, No Part Missing – Police

The Osun State Police Command said on Thursday that the remains of Timothy Adegoke, a Master Degree student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife have been exhumed.

The Police Public Relations Officer for the command, Yemisi Opalola, who disclosed this said no part of the corpse was missing when it was dug out from where it was buried.

The deceased was said to have lodged at the Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife before his last trip to Ile Ife from Abuja. He was also said to have lodged at the same hotel before his disappearance.

The owner of the hotel, Chief Rahmon Adedoyin and other workers have been arrested by the police in connection with the incident.

Investigation by the police led them to where he was buried and while speaking on Fresh FM, a private radio station in Osogbo on Thursday, the PPRO said family members of the deceased student were present when the body was exhumed.

She said “The remains of Adegoke have been exhumed by the police. It was done in the presence of family members. No part of the body was missing when it was exhumed.

” Investigation by the police indicate that Adegoke slept at Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, and he was traced to the hotel. In the course of the investigation, we arrested six workers who are connected to the issue. Further investigation led to the arrest of the owner of the Hotel. Dr Rahman Adedoyin. He is still in our custody. The corpse has been exhumed and deposited at OAUTH morgue.

“The relations were present when the corpse was exhumed and pathologist and the CP ( commissioner of Police). No part of the body was missing when it was exhumed. I plead with Nigerians not to stir up crisis. They should allow police to do a diligent investigation to unravel the mystery behind the death of late Adegoke.”
