Obasanjo Attacks Buhari Again, ‘Your Government Ineffective, A Failure’

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s government as ineffective and incompetent.

Speaking on Monday at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Ogun state, the former president said the current administration has failed Nigerians.

He warned Nigerians against re-electing what he termed “reinforcing failure”, while advising the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop giving excuses.

“The first lesson I learnt in my military training is to never reinforce failure. What we have now is failure,” he said.

“Never you reinforce failure. Let failure be failure. And if you do not see what you should see, you will then be a victim of what you don’t like because it’s only when you see what you should see and you do what you should do that you put away what you do not like.

“Those of you who are into business know that by now you would have recorded progress if not for an ineffective government.”

Obsanjo had in January written an 18-paged letter, calling for Buhari’s retirement in 2019, saying the president should not “over-tax the patience and tolerance of Nigerians for him.”

Obasanjo said Buhari, apart from being bereft of the necessary ideas that could move the country out its current doldrums, has been unduly “nepotic” in his appointments.
