Obasanjo’s ADC Welcomes 6,000 Defecting Members Of APC, PDP, AD

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), which was recently adopted as the official political party of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s Coalition of Nigeria Movement (CNM), has received 6, 000 defecting members of several other political parties.

According to report, the 6, 000 defectors comprised members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Alliance for Democracy (AD).

The development may spell further negative impact on the ruling APC which had recently recorded massive defections away from its fold.

The Ogun East Senatorial Chairman of ADC, Ladi Odujirin, received the defectors who were led by AD’s Abayomi Mighty in Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

Speaking on why the APC, PDP and AD defectors dumped their erstwhile parties, Mighty said that the parties were being run by birds of a feather that operate based on archaic ideologies.

He added that ADC’s promise to field more youths for elective positions in 2019, led the defectors who are mostly youths to join the party.
