Charles Okah is brother to former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta MEND, Henry Okah.

The court had earlier sentenced a third defendant, Edmund Ebiware to life imprisonment for his role in the October 1st bombing in Abuja.

Recall that the 2010 Nigeria Independence Day attack left 12 dead and 17 injured, after two car bombings carried out against crowds celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the country’s freedom from colonial rule.

It was also reported that MEND had issued a warning less than an hour before the first bomb stating the location and the time.
