The president of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Enugu state chapter, Hon Chiedozie Alex Ogbonnia, yesterday commended Enugu State Governor Rt Hon Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on his government’s interventions on the federal roads in the state. Hon Ogbonnia stated this while addressing newsmen in Enugu.

He said, “Many lives and resources had been lost on those roads over the years. We applaud the courage of Governor Ugwuanyi for fixing those roads. It has improved the economic activities in the state and also made life worth living. I recall how 9th Mile Corner used to be before his intervention. The same applies to Opi-Obollo Afor road. Work is still ongoing in some of them, and we urge him not to relent. We also appeal to the federal government to refund funds expended on those roads for more executions.”

He also thanked the governor for his prudence and transparency in running his government, and recalled that the Senate Committee on State and Local Government Administration recently commended the governor on the prudent way he spent the bailout funds.

“It is on record that the committee called on other state governors to emulate how judiciously the Ugwuanyi administration expended the funds. We in Ohaneze also praise him for allowing stakeholders in various local government areas to choose projects for execution during recent flag-offs of projects in all the LGAs in the state. This eliminates marginalization because every local government area feels the touch of the governance.”
