Okonjo-Iweala To Deliver Maiden Amaka Ndoma-Egba Memorial Lecture

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization, will deliver the maiden Amaka Ndoma-Egba memorial lecture as part of events lined up to mark the first burial anniversary of the late wife of former senate leader, Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba.

The WTO DG will deliver the lecture themed “LEADERSHIP, LEGACY AND CHANGE” on December 11 at the Start-Rite Schools, Abuja.

The Chairman of Heirs Holdings, Mr. Tony Elumelu, will chair the event.

A memorial mass presided over by John Cardinal Onaiyekan, the former Archbishop Abuja, Rev. Dr. Anselem Umoren, Auxiliary Bishop of Abuja, will also be held on the same day in honour of the deceased at the Church of the Assumption, Asokoro, Abuja.

Prior to these, a memorial mass will hold in honour of late Mrs Ndoma-Egba on November 19 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Akparabong, Ikom, Cross River State.

At the mass to be led by the Catholic Bishop of Ogoja, Rev. Donatus Edet Akpan, the St. Lauretta’s Chapel of Adoration built by Senator Ndoma-Egba will be dedicated to the deceased.

In a statement signed by him and made available to THE WHISTLER, Senator Ndoma-Egba, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, said the remembrance will culminate in the unveiling of the Victor and Amaka Ndoma-Egba Foundation.

The event will feature readings by Dike Chukwumerije.

The late Mrs. Ndoma-Egba, who was the founder of Start-Rite Schools, Abuja, died in a ghastly auto crash on November 19, 2020 on the Ore-Okitipupa road in Ondo State.
