Okorocha Sacks Commissioner, 2 Special Advisers

The Governor of Imo State , Rochas Okorocha has relieved the Commissioner for Information, Dr Vitais Ajumbe of his duties.

Okorocha also sacked his Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment and Strategy, Mr kelechi Okpalaeke and Special Adviser on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr Justice Odika.

The Principal Secretary to the governor, Mr Pascal Obi, in a statement issued on Thursday, said the sack is with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, the governor appointed Pastor Ralp Afoaku as the Director General of the state-owned media, the Imo Broadcasting Corporation (IBC).

Afoaku replaces the former DG, Mrs Esther Obong-Egbuna, who died three months ago.

Okorocha also appointed Mr Hilary Opara, Deputy Inspector General of Police (rtd) as Special Adviser on Security Matters, while Mr Ananyo Chukwu is the Special Adviser on Social Media.

Mr Evan Enwerem (jnr) was also appointed as the transition Committee Chairman for Ikeduru Local Government Area.

The statement asked all those affected to hand over all government property in their care to the permanent secretaries in their ministries.

The governor also wished them well in their future endeavours.
