Omah Lay, Tems Arrest In Uganda: Nigerian Gov’t ‘Doing Everything’ To Secure Singers’ Release – Abike Dabiri

Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has taken to Twitter to assure Nigerians that everything was being done to secure the release of Nigerian singers, Omah Lay and Tems, who were arrested and detained in Uganda for holding concerts in contravention to the country’s COVID-19 protocols.

The singers were reportedly picked up by the Katwe Police in Uganda after performing at an event tagged “The Big Brunch” which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd, Kampala, Uganda.

The NIDCOM chairman’s reaction came amidst calls for the Federal Government to weigh in on the continued detention of the fast-rising singers.

‘Godly’ crooner, Omah Lay, had taken to his official Twitter page to accuse the Ugandan authorities of not granting him fair hearing in the matter.

Reacting to the post, Dabiri assured the music star that everything would be done to get him and Tems out of the situation.
