Ondo Guber: Akerededolu’s Candidature Spells Doom For APC As 6000 Members Defect To PDP

Over 6000 members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state have defected to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), The Sun reports.

The new PDP members led by one Mr Adebowale Olowoeye, cited the emergence of an unpopular gubernatorial candidate in the APC, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, as the reason for pitching their tent with the PDP.

The defectors stated that the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Eyitayo Jegede, is believed to stand a better chance at emerging as the next governor of the state.

The defectors, who professed their love for the PDP candidate, also pledged to support him in the upcoming Ondo state election.

“Eyitayo Jegede’s wind blowing across the state is too real to be ignored,” the defectors claimed.

Ondo state Governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, represented by his Chief of Staff, Dr Kola Ademujimi, received the defectors and thanked them for taking the ‘bold step in the right direction’.
