One Injured, Three Unhurt In Anambra Road Crash

One person was Monday injured in a lone auto-crash that involved a Toyota Camry car with registration number MUS883GN. The accident, which involved four persons, occurred at about 1550hrs by U-turn, before St. Luke’s Church, Ibolo, Oraifite in Anambra State.

THE WHISTLER gathered that the accident was a result of over-speeding, leading to loss of control.

The sector public education officer, Federal Road Safety Corps, Anambra State, SC Florence Edor, told our correspondent in Awka that, “The crash involved four male adults. One male adult sustained little injury and refused to be taken to hospital.”

Meanwhile, the sector commander, FRSC, Anambra State Command, CC Andrew A Kumapayi, while wishing the injured victim quick recovery, warned motorists to avoid over-speeding, especially in built-up areas. He further advised them to use the recommended speed-limit of 50km/hr.

In another development, to eradicate incidences of disservice, indiscipline and corruption among personnel of the FRSC, the corps marshal, Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, in a statement, has urged the public to download the corps’ ‘Flagit’ Anti- Corruption App to report unprofessional and professional conducts exhibited by FRSC operatives for punishment and reward where applicable.

Mr Oyeyemi said the app is a platform designated for public complaints, adding that, “These complaints will help shape policy focus and not only entrench discipline, but also serve as a propelling force for greater performance by both operatives in the field and at the national headquarters.”
