Adepoju allegedly shot and injured one Amotekun operative who went to secure the bail of his colleagues arrested and detained by the police for arresting herdsmen who grazed on a farm.

The Publicity Secretary of OPC, Yinka Oguntimehin, expressed concern that a minor misunderstanding which ought to have been resolved quickly degenerated into a violent clash which claimed lives and led to destruction of properties worth several millions.

The group asked Buhari to order a probe into the crisis and ensure that culprits are arrested and prosecuted.

He said, ” I am using this opportunity to call on President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate the circumstances surrounding the ugly incident, so as to bring the culprits to book and also forestall further crisis.

“ Also, the police officer should be made to face the music for shooting an Amotekun man.No matter who was involved and the circumstances surrounding the incident, the police boss should be professional enough to know when to pull the trigger.

“It is a grave error of judgment for such a senior officer of the police to shoot an Amotekun man knowing full well that the South-West security outfit was backed by the law.
