Judge Aubrey Ledwaba, of the North Gauteng High Court granted the former Paralympic athlete bail on the provision he surrenders his passport and wears an electric tag.
The 29-year old will be free to leave his uncle’s home, where he has been under house confinement, and can travel up to 20 kilometers (12 miles) between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon.
He will be required to seek written permission to leave the house at any other time, and must pay a 10,000 rand (N157, 780) bail, Ledwaba said.

Pistorius’ legal team confirmed it will lodge an appeal with the Constitutional Court, after the Supreme Court of Appeal ruled last week that his manslaughter conviction may be upgraded.
Though the athlete’s lawyer did not say on what basis he would be appealing the murder conviction at the Constitutional Court, South Africa’s highest court.
Meanwhile, April 18 has been set for the sentencing to allow the Constitutional Court time to decide whether it would hear Pistorius’ appeal.
